Tusculum finishes sixth at Converse Spring Invitational

SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- The Tusculum women's golf team posted a two-day score of 657, including Tuesday's final round 332 to finish fifth at the Converse Spring Invitational. The 36-hole event was held at the par-72, 5,881-yard Carolina Country Club.

Tusculum's Taylor Lambertsen cracked the top-10 carding a final day 80 to shoot 159 and finish tied for eighth place.

Anderson University finished with 640 to edge runner-up Queens University of Charlotte one a single shot (641). Wingate finished third with 643, including a Tuesday-best round of 314. Host Converse finished fourth with 650, followed by Tusculum and King who tied for fifth with 657. Milligan finished seventh with 669, followed by Erskine (680), Pfeiffer (680) and Lenoir-Rhyne (698) to round out the top-10. Coker shot 706 to finish 11th, followed by Belmont Abbey (720), Converse B (731), Barton (736), Brevard (817) and Spartanburg Methodist (821).

Erkine's Krysta Schaus captured medalist honors with rounds of 76-78=154 to win by one shot over the duo of MiKaela Hadaway (Wingate) and Ansley Vaughan (Converse), who each posted tournament scores of 155.

Tusculum's Ciara Rattana recorded another top-20 finish as the tied for 17th place with 79-85=164. Katie Tomassoni carded back-to-back rounds of 83-83=166 to finish 27th. Cydney Murrell tied for 30th with 85-84=169, while Calley Lawson rounded out the team scoring with 84-89=173 and finished 40th. TC's Lindsay Butler (92-96=188) and Kelly Horrell (93-99=192) placed 65th and 72nd, respectively, playing as individual competitors.

Tusculum returns to action Mar. 20-21 as the Pioneers compete at the Wingate Intercollegiate Challenge in Charlotte, North Carolina.
