SALISBURY, N.C. --- The Tusculum College women's golf team finished eighth at the 2014 Patsy Rendleman Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole tournament was held at the Country Club of Salisbury and hosted by Catawba College.

The Pioneers posted a two-day team scored of 644 to place eighth in the 15-team tournament field. TC carded a final round 324 on Tuesday, led by freshman Ciara Rattana's 74. Rattana tied for 11th place individually with 79-74=153.

First-round leader Converse won the team title with a score of 613, two strokes better than runner-up Queens. Catawba and West Georgia finished in a two-way tie for third place with 621. Lincoln Memorial was fifth with 624, followed by Newberry (631), Wingate (635), Tusculum, Coker (646), Pfeiffer (650), Erskine (652), North Greenville (678), Belmont Abbey (682), Lenoir-Rhyne (687) and Anderson (697).

Tusculum senior Alec Cunningham claimed sole possession of 25th place with her two-day score of 80-79=159. Sophomore Taylor Lambertsen carded 77-85=162 to tie for 31st, while junior Calley Lawson (84-86=170, T55th) and Kelly Horrell (90-87=177, T66th) rounded out the team scoring for the Pioneers.

TC rookie Blythe Scrivner posted rounds of 84-78=162 to tie for 31st place, while sophomore teammate Lindsay Butler finished 69th with 91-88=179. Scrivner and Butler were playing as individual competitors.

Converse's Maddisen Cox captured medalist honors with 73-70=140, winning the tournament by four strokes.

Tusculum will travel to St. Augustine, Florida in two weeks for the Flagler College Fall Slam (Oct. 27-28).
