Tusculum women in eighth at Rendleman Invitational

SALISBURY, N.C. --- The Tusculum College women's golf team posted an opening day score of 320 and is in eighth place at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole event is being held at the Country Club of Salisbury and hosted by Catawba College.

Converse College has the opening round lead with 305, three shots in front of Catawba (308) and Queens University of Charlotte (308). Newberry and West Georgia are tied for fourth place with 310, followed by Lincoln Memorial (314), Wingate (317), Tusculum, Erskine (323), Pfeiffer (323), Coker (324), North Greenville (334), Anderson (339), Lenoir-Rhyne (344) and Belmont Abbey (349).

Tusculum sophomore Taylor Lambertsen led the Pioneers with her 77 and is tied for 18th place. Freshman Ciara Rattana is 25th with 79, while senior Alec Cunningham is a shot behind with 80 and is tied for 29th. Junior Calley Lawson shot 84 and is 49th, while junior teammate Kelly Horrell finished with 90 and is in 69th place.

Playing as individual competitors, TC freshman Blythe Scrivner shot 84 and is tied for 49th place, while sophomore Lindsay Butler carded a 91 and is 73rd.

Catawba's Anthea Gnielinski and Newberry's Marianna Monaco share the first-day lead with 72.

The final round will be played on Tuesday.
