SUNSET BEACH, N.C. --- The Tusculum College women's golf team posted a season-low round of 307, shaving 15 shots off of its first day score to finish 12th at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate. The two-day, 36-hole event is being held at the Rees Jones Course at the Sea Trail Resort.

The Pioneers finished with team total of 322-307=629 in the 20-team tournament field.

Tusculum senior Alec Cunningham shot a career-best 72 on Tuesday, giving her a tournament tally of 79-72=151 to finish in a tie for 12th place. Her final round 72 was one of six players on Tuesday to shoot par or lower and is tied for the ninth lowest 18-hole score in program history.

TC freshman Ciara Rattana finished in a tie for 25th place with 78-77=155, while sophomore Taylor Lambertsen carded rounds of 81-79=160 to finish 47th. Juniors Calley Lawson (84-85=169) and Kelly Horrell (97-79=176) finished 70th and 85th, respectively. Pioneer sophomore Lindsay Butler, playing as an individual competitor, tied for 83rd place with 91-84=175.

Florida Tech led wire-to-wire as the Panthers shot a sizzling 589, including a final round 290 to win by 15 shots over runner-up Wingate (604).

Limestone finished third with 610, Newberry placed fourth with 613, while Erskine and Lincoln Memorial tied for fifth place with 620. King, Coker and Queens also shot 622 and tied for seventh place. Catawba finished 10th with 627, followed by Mount Olive (628), Tusculum, Barton (664), Pfeiffer (664), Belmont Abbey (667), Anderson (669), Lenoir-Rhyne (676), Mars Hill (677), Emmanuel (694) and Virginia-Wise (765).

Florida Tech's Johanna Larsson led wire-to-wire for medalist honors as she fired 68-72-140 to finish four shots better than Wingate's Natalia Segura (72-72=144).

Tusculum returns to action next week (Oct. 13-14) as the Pioneers travel to Salisbury, North Carolina for the Patsy Rendleman Invitational.
