ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. --- The Tusculum College women's golf team posted a final round 334 to post a two-day score of 685 to finish 12th at the 2013 Flagler Fall Slam. The 36-hole tournament was held at the par-72, 6,062-yard Marsh Creek Country Club and hosted by Flagler College.
The Pioneers trimmed 17 shots off of Monday's 351 total, led by senior Sara Howard, who shot 85-79=164 to finish tied for 39th place. Junior Alec Cunningham carded a final round 82 to finish with 172, good enough to place 54th. Freshman Taylor Lambertsen tied for 60th with 90-84=174, while sophomore Calley Lawson posted 86-89=175 to finish tied for 63rd.
Lindsay Butler, playing as an individual competitor, shot 94-98=192 to finish in 70th place.
Third-ranked Barry led wire-to-wire as the Buccaneers shot 298-300=598, six shots better than 11th-ranked Flagler with 303-301=604. Seminole State was third with 625, followed by Armstrong (627), Saint Leo (627), West Florida (628), Limestone (637), Mount Olive (649), Tampa (653), Carson-Newman (658), Anderson (677), Tusculum, Catawba (710) and Eckerd (752).
Marie Santacroce of Flagler shot a one-under 71 on Tuesday to finish with 145 and claim medalist honors by a single shot over Barry's Maria Paola Fiorio (71-75=146).
Tusculum wraps up its 2013 fall schedule. The Pioneers return to action Feb. 1-2, 2014 when they host the Tusculum/Kiawah Island Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, S.C.
