Corum, Pioneers finish third at TSYS Collegiate Classic

COLUMBUS, Ga. --- The Tusculum College women's golf team posted a score of 324 to tie for third place at the weather-shortened TSYS Collegiate Classic, held this week at the Country Club of Columbus. The tournament was shortened to 18 holes due to wet course conditions on the 5,821-yard, par-72 layout.

Teams completed 12 holes on Monday and returned to the course on Tuesday to complete their rounds.

The Pioneers finished three strokes behind tournament winner Lander, who carded a 321, one-shot ahead of runner-up Catawba (322). Tusculum and UNCP tied for third place with 324, followed by host Columbus State (330), Wingate (335), North Greenville (343), Montevallo (343), North Georgia (344), Carson-Newman (348) and Limestone (363).

TC senior Jillian Corum finished with a 78 to tie for third place, six shots behind tournament medalist Teresa Caballer Hernani of Lander, who shot 72 and won a playoff over runner-up Madison Kennedy of Catawba.

TC's Emee Herbert and Sara Howard tied for sixth place at 79, while Calley Lawson (88) and Alec Cunningham (89) finished 39th and 43rd, respectively. TC's Kelly Horrell, playing as an individual competitor tied for 39th place with 88.

Tusculum returns to action Mar. 18-19 when the Pioneers compete at the Pinehurst Challenge in Pinehurst, N.C.
