MADISON, Ga. --- Tusculum College women's golf
signee Emee Herbert captured the Georgia Class AA State
Championship Monday afternoon. The Greater Atlanta Christian High
School standout fired a one-over par 73 at Long Shadow Golf Club,
after finishing runner-up at last year's event.
Her score was good enough to help GAC to a team score of 164 to
finish second place, two strokes behind State Champion Vidalia High
School, who carded a 162.
Herbert, a native of Johns Creek, Ga., has led her squad to three Regional Championships. During her prep career, she has helped GAC to a pair of State Runner-up performances (2009, 2011) and the 2010 State title.
Herbert is a 2010 All-State First Team selection, while also enjoying great success in junior golf. She played in the AJGA, Atlanta Junior Golf, PGA Junior and the Southeastern Junior golf tours. She has captured medalist honors on numerous occasions during her playing career.
Tusculum College, located in Greeneville, Tenn., is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference which is comprised of 10 colleges and universities in Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.
