ALCOA, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College women's golf team fired a 329 to win the 2011 Maryville Invitational, held Thursday at Green Meadow Country Club.

Sophomore Jillian Corum captured medalist honors for the tournament as she posted a 79. For Corum, it's her second individual win this season and third of her career. Senior Emily Palenkas, a native of nearby Maryville, posted an 81 to place fourth and earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team in her homecoming.

Also joining the All-Tournament Team for the Pioneers is rookie Sara Howard, who shot 82 and finished fifth.

Katie Doane carded an 87 to finish tied for ninth place, Aly Pugh posted 90 to finish 14th and Haley Rye finished with an 85 to place eighth, playing as an individual competitor.

Tusculum finished nine shots ahead of tournament runner-up Lincoln Memorial (338). For the Pioneers, it is there second team title this year. Piedmont was third with 355, followed by Milligan (365), host Maryville (372), Bryan College (401), Sewanee (475) and Lambuth (480).

The Pioneers and Railsplitters will square off once again on Saturday for the Tusculum/LMU Match Play event, held at Holston Hills Country Club in Knoxville.
