SALISBURY, N.C. --- The Tusculum College women's golf team shot an opening round 319 and is in seventh place at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational, held this week at the Country Club of Salisbury.

Belmont Abbey posted a 294 on Monday and has the opening round lead, three shots ahead of second place UNC Pembroke (297). Newberry is third with 308, while Carson-Newman, Pfeiffer and Lincoln Memorial are in a three-way tie for fourth place at 314. Tusculum is seventh, followed by Wingate (323), Columbus State (323), Catawba (328), Lenoir-Rhyne (328), Queens University of Charlotte (335), St. Andrews (356), North Greenville (365) and Coker (369).

Tusculum's Sara Howard is tied for 17th place with 77, while Jillian Corum fired a 78 and is tied for 20th place. Emily Palenkas is tied for 34th at 81, while Haley Rye (83) and Katie Doane (86) are tied for 41st and 52nd, respectively. Adriana Vizcarrondo, playing as an individual competitor, also shot an 83 and is tied for 41st place.

The final round will be played on Tuesday at the 5,983-yard, par 72 layout.
