CHARLOTTE --- Jillian Corum fired an opening round 83 and is tied for 18th place at the J. Ralph Hargett Intercollegiate. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being held at the par 72, 5,673-yard Olde Sycamore Golf Club.

The Pioneers shot 353 and are in 11th place in the team competition.

Tusculum senior Mary Ann Vizcarrondo fired an 87 and is tied for 32nd place, while junior Emily Palenkas carded a 91 and is tied for 45th. Sophomore Aly Pugh is tied for 48th with her opening 92, while junior Adriana Vizcarrondo shot 97 and is tied for 54th place.

Newberry shot 320 on Monday and holds a five-shot lead over second place UNC Pembroke (325). Carson-Newman is third with 329, followed by host Wingate (335), Catawba (337), Anderson (337), Queens (338), Pfeiffer (342), Lincoln Memorial (346), Mount Olive (352), Tusculum and Lenoir-Rhyne (360).

The final round will be played on Tuesday.
