CALABASH, N.C. --- Tusculum College
senior Mary Ann Vizcarrondo posted an opening
round 76 and is one shot behind the leader after day one action of
the Lenoir-Rhyne University/Myrtle Beach Women's Golf
Intercollegiate. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being played at
Meadowlands Golf Club. (1st

Vizcarrondo is in sole possession of second place and a stroke
behind UNC Pembroke's Katja Dammann (75).
Tusculum posted a team score of 329 and is in sixth place.
Newberry College has the first round lead with 312, two strokes
ahead of second-place Wingate University (314). UNC Pembroke is
third with 320, followed by Lincoln Memorial University (321),
Queens University of Charlotte (326), Tusculum, Lenoir-Rhyne (331),
Catawba College (341), Anderson University (346), Armstrong
Atlantic State University (350), Erskine College (353), Limestone
College (376) and Mars Hill College (407).
Tusculum junior Emily Palenkas and sophomore
Aly Pugh are tied for 24th at 83, while freshman
Jillian Corum posted an 87 and is tied for 38th
place. Sophomore Katie Doane rounds out the TC
scoring with her 88 (T43rd).
The final round will be played on Tuesday on the par 72,
5,802-yard layout.
