ETOWAH, N.C. --- Tusculum College rookie
Jillian Corum fired an opening round 74 to lead
the Tusculum College women's golf team to a first day lead at the
Women's Independent Collegiate Invitational Tournament. The
Pioneers fired an opening round 314 and holds a four shot lead over
Lincoln Memorial University (318).
Corum is in first place in the individual competition as she has a
three-shot lead over LMU's Maria Stapleton who
fired a 77 on Saturday.
Erskine College is in third place with 343, followed by Limestone
College (351), Mars Hill College (373) and Brevard College
(374).
Mary Ann Vizcarrondo is tied for third place with
78, while freshman Haley Rye posted an 80 and is
tied for fifth. Katie Doane is 10th with 82, while
Emily Palenkas is tied for 17th with 86.
Adriana Vizcarrondo shot 92 and is tied for 23rd
playing as an individual competitor.
The final round of the 36-hole tournament will be played at Etowah
Valley Golf Club on Sunday.
