Silva participating in Eurobasket showcase in Cleveland

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University senior guard Faith Silva is participating in the Eurobasket Women's Final 4 Showcase at the Cleveland State University Student Recreation Center this weekend, in conjunction with the Division I Women's Final Four.

Silva is one of 87 players from across all levels of college women's basketball participating in the three-day event. The players are divided into eight teams and will play a total of four games during the showcase. Silva will be playing in games on Friday and Saturday.

The Alamogordo, New Mexico native averaged 10.3 points per game in her only season with the Pioneers, leading the team and ranking seventh in the South Atlantic Conference with 62 made three-pointers. Silva scored in double figures 14 times during the 2023-24 season, including a season-high 21 at Emory & Henry on Jan. 3. She made at least one three-pointer in 21 of her 26 games, including 11 in a row to finish the season. Silva ended her collegiate career with 1,585 points and 337 made three-pointers in five seasons across three schools.

According to Eurobasket, more than 1,400 players from past ESL camps have signed professionally in 103 different countries, including 48 players from the 2023 Showcase events. A second ESL Showcase will be held June 28-30 in Atlanta.

Former Pioneer All-American Maddie Sutton has played the last three seasons in Iceland, where she is averaging 16.7 points, 14.9 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game for Thor AK this year. Fellow Tusculum alum Jalia Arnwine is playing for Zadar Plus in Croatia this season and is averaging 8.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
