Kallenberg, Wilson earn CSC Academic All-District honors

AUSTIN, Texas --- Tusculum University student-athletes Jenna Kallenberg and Carleigh Wilson have been named to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Academic All-District® 3 first team as selected by the College Sports Communicators.

The 2023-2024 Academic All-District® Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the basketball court and in the classroom.

District 3 is comprised of colleges and universities representing the South Atlantic Conference, Peach Belt Conference and Conference Carolinas. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, must be at least a sophomore and played in 90 percent of their team's games or start in 67 percent of their team's contests.

Kallenberg, a 5-10 senior forward from Knoxville, Tennessee, has a 3.80 GPA as a psychology major. She is a member of the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, Dean's List, Athletic Director's Honor Roll, Charles Oliver Gray Honors List and is a 2022 recipient of the Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.

Kallenberg played in 26 games with 13 starts and averaged 20.2 minutes per contest. She posted 6.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest and was second on the team with her 35 made three-pointers. Her 22 steals were third-most on the squad as she also dished out 24 assists.

Wilson, a 5-10 sophomore guard from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, has a 3.88 GPA while majoring in sports science. She is a member of the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, Dean's List, Charles Oliver Gray Honors List and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

Wilson appeared in 25 games including 24 starts where she finished third on the club in scoring averaging 8.4 points per contest. She also grabbed 5.0 rebounds per game while her 124 total rebounds were second on the team. She shot 41.1 percent from the floor and 71 percent from the free throw line. She led the team with her 55 assists and was second with 21 blocked shots.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in April.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-2024 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
