Camden Boehner recognized as WBCA Thirty Under 30 honoree

ATLANTA, Ga. --- Tusculum University women's basketball assistant coach Camden Boehner has been recognized by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association as a WBCA Thirty Under 30 honoree.

The award is given to 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches age 30 and under at all levels of the game. Each honoree has exemplified their involvement in community service, mentorship and impact on others, professional manner, and attitude and professional association involvement.

Boehner recently completed her second season as an assistant coach for the Pioneers, and has been on the bench for two straight South Atlantic Conference Championship titles and NCAA Division II Tournament bids. Tusculum has gone 43-11 in Boehner's two seasons with the Pioneers, including a 19-4 record this season.

"I'm honored to be recognized among so many well-deserving coaches and people," said Boehner, who was a graduate assistant coach for the Pioneers during the 2019-20 season before being elevated to full-time assistant coach upon the hiring of Meagan Price as head coach last spring. "I wouldn't have been able to receive this recognition without Coach Price and her belief and faith in me. I'm truly lucky to get to coach at Tusculum and grow in this profession. This program, people and environment are unmatched and I am blessed to be a part of something so special."

A native of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Boehner was part of two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division championship teams during her playing career at West Chester University. Boehner transferred to West Chester after earning PSAC East Freshman of the Year honors at Bloomsburg University, and earned first-team All-PSAC East honors as a senior after averaging 13.5 points per game in 2017-18. During her senior season, Boehner was one of 62 female student-athletes across all major divisions to be named to the 2018 WBCA "So You Want To Be A Coach" program, held at the NCAA Division I Women's Final Four. Boehner is the all-time leader in free-throw percentage at West Chester (.843) and is among the top 10 in school history in three-pointers made (115) and three-point percentage (.345).

"Cam has been an integral part of the success of Tusculum women's basketball. Her energy and passion for the game is rare," said Price, who has a 57-20 record in three seasons as a collegiate head coach. "It's been so rewarding to see her growth over this past season. Our staff is incredibly special."

Boehner is the second Tusculum assistant coach to receive recognition from the WBCA this week, following graduate assistant coach Eveline Parsons who was selected to participate in this year's "So You Want To Be A Coach" program later this month.

The WBCA Thirty Under 30 program is in its sixth year, and is presented with the support of Morgan Stanley Global Sports & Entertainment for the second straight year.
