Pioneers hold on to seventh in D2SIDA Southeast Region

CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- The Tusculum University women's basketball team remains seventh in this week's D2SIDA Southeast Region rankings, through games of February 10.

The Pioneers (16-6) defeated Hiwassee 74-30 in a non-conference game on Wednesday and beat Queens 58-41 on Saturday to extend their winning streak to three consecutive games. Tusculum was tied for seventh last week with Belmont Abbey, which fell out of this week's poll.

Anderson (21-2) continues to lead the region poll after extending their winning streak to 19 games with a pair of victories. Lander (17-5) and Wingate (17-5) remain second and third, respectively, with North Georgia (17-4) and Carson-Newman (18-5) swapping fourth and fifth place.

Barton (19-4) holds on to sixth place, followed by Tusculum and Flagler (15-6), which moved up a spot from ninth. Emmanuel (16-6) rejoins the rankings at ninth, as does Clayton State (14-7) in 10th.

The Pioneers visit Mars Hill on Wednesday at 6 p.m. and host Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday at 2 p.m. Tusculum is in sole possession of fourth place in the South Atlantic Conference at 8-6, a half-game ahead of Lincoln Memorial, with six games remaining in the regular season.
