The Tusculum College Women's basketball team is in the latest
NCAA Division II Women's basketball statistical report, through
games of Sunday, Feb. 12.
Junior guard Kendal Baxter is second in the nation in free-throw
percentage and 11th in three-point field goals per game, and senior
forward Linda Aughburns is 36th in rebound average in this week's
report.
Baxter is shooting 92.3 percent (72-for-78) at the free-throw line,
and trails only Peyton Adamson of Tarleton State (93.0 percent) in
this week's rankings. Baxter has made 26 consecutive free throws
and holds the Tusculum career record for free-throw percentage at
89.0 percent (145-for-163).
In three-pointers per game, Baxter is ninth at 2.92 three-pointers
per contest, having made 64 threes in 22 games to lead the SAC.
Jasmine Judge of Lander continues to lead Division II with 4.2
three-pointers per game (89 in 21 games).
Aughburns is ranked 36th in rebounds per contest (211 in 22 games),
including eight games of 10 rebounds or more. Aughburns is third in
the SAC in rebounds per game, behind Dana Hicks of Catawba (5th
nationally, 12.3 per game) and MaRanda Boddie of Lincoln Memorial
(30th, 9.7).
As a team, the Pioneers are 28th in rebound margin with a
differential of +6.4 rebounds per game, 34th in three-point
field-goal percentage defense at 27.0 percent and 38th in
three-pointers made per game at 6.6 per game.
The Pioneers (15-7 overall, 9-5 SAC) host Anderson in a South
Atlantic Conference contest Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Pioneer Arena.
Tusculum is currently in a three-way tie for second place in the
SAC with Wingate and Lenoir-Rhyne, two games behind first-place
Catawba.
