Tusculum College senior guard Jasmine Gunn is ranked 12th in
scoring average in this week's NCAA Division II Women's Basketball
statistics report, through games of Sunday, February 27.
Gunn leads the South Atlantic Conference and ranks third among all
players from the Southeast Region in scoring at 19.8 points per
game. Over the last week, Gunn averaged 20.0 points per game and
extended her streak of consecutive 20-point performances to six
before being held to 17 at Mars Hill in Saturday's regular-season
finale.
Last season, the Nashville native and graduate of Antioch High
School ranked eighth in Division II in scoring at 21.6 points per
game and was also ranked in the top 40 in both steals per game and
assists per game en route to earning consensus Division II
All-America honors. For her career, the 4-11 Gunn ranks second in
program history and fourth in South Atlantic Conference history
with 2,133 points.
As a team, the Pioneers rank 28th in Division II in rebound margin,
with an average of plus-6.0 rebounds per game over the opposition.
Tusculum is averaging 40.5 rebounds per game compared to 34.6
rebounds per game by its opponents.
The Pioneers (18-8 overall, 14-4 SAC) won their third SAC
regular-season championship in the last four years and earned the
top seed for the Food Lion SAC Tournament. Tusculum hosts
eighth-seeded Anderson (11-15, 7-11 SAC) in a quarterfinal game
Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Pioneer Arena.
