Tusculum College senior guard Jasmine Gunn has moved up one spot
to 10th in scoring average in this week's NCAA Division II Women's
Basketball statistics report, through games of Sunday, February
20.
Gunn leads the South Atlantic Conference and ranks second among all
players from the Southeast Region in scoring at 19.8 points per
game. Over the last week, Gunn averaged 20.5 points per game and
extended her streak of consecutive 20-point performances to
five.
Last season, the Nashville native and graduate of Antioch High
School ranked eighth in Division II in scoring at 21.6 points per
game and was also ranked in the top 40 in both steals per game and
assists per game en route to earning consensus Division II
All-America honors. For her career, the 4-11 Gunn ranks second in
program history and fourth in South Atlantic Conference history
with 2,093 points.
As a team, the Pioneers rank 32nd in Division II in rebound margin,
with an average of plus-5.7 rebounds per game over the opposition.
Tusculum is averaging 40.0 rebounds per game compared to 34.3
rebounds per game by its opponents.
The Pioneers (17-7 overall, 13-3 SAC) have earned no worse than a
share of the SAC regular-season championship and can clinch the
outright title with a win in their next game, Wednesday at 6 p.m.
at Lenoir-Rhyne.
