GUNN NAMED TO WBCA DIVISION II ALL-AMERICA TEAM

Jasmine Gunn ATLANTA, Ga. --- Tusculum College women's basketball player Jasmine Gunn has been named to the 2009 WBCA Division II State Farm Coaches' All-America Honorable Mention Team, announced college officials Tuesday. Gunn is the second player in program history to receive All-America honors, joining Stephany Neptune who was named to the honorable mention team in 2008.

Gunn, a two-time All-South Atlantic Conference First Team selection, led the Pioneers in points (15.5), assists (5.8), steals (2.0), and free throw percentage (82.0%) as TC captured its second consecutive SAC title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year. The 2007-08 SAC Freshman of the Year has built an impressive resume in just two seasons with the Pioneers, dishing out 370 assists thus far in her career at Tusculum to move into fifth on the program's all-time list.

The 2009 Daktronics All-Southeast Region Second Team selection also owns the top assist average in program history, dishing out nearly six helpers per contest thus far in her career. Gunn, a sophomore from Nashville, Tenn., also ranks third in the Tusculum record book in career scoring average (14.6 PPG) and fifth in free throw percentage (78.9%).
