KEARNEY, Neb. --- Tusculum College forward Stephany
Neptune has been named to the WBCA Division II All-America
Honorable Mention team announced College officials. Neptune becomes
the first player in the program's history to earn Division II
All-America distinction.
Neptune, a sophomore from Wallkill, N.Y., led the South Atlantic
Conference in rebounding, averaging 11.3 boards per game which is
currently seventh in the nation. The All-Region and All-Conference
selection averaged 10.9 points per game, which was fourth on the
team and led the squad in field goal percentage (50%) and blocked
shots per game (1.8 bpg - 2nd in SAC/37th in NCAA II).
Neptune recorded 16 double-doubles on the season, which led the
South Atlantic Conference. Earlier this year, she tied a school
record with 23 rebounds in a home win over South Atlantic Region
champion Wingate. In that game, she also blocked six shots, which
also tied a school mark.
Neptune led Tusculum to a 26-5 record while capturing the
program's first South Atlantic Conference Championship. TC's 26-5
record is the first 20-win season in over 11 years and the third
most victories in school history. Tusculum's .839 winning
percentage is the second best ever at Tusculum and the fifth-best
percentage in the State of Tennessee for four-year colleges this
season.
Tusculum College, located in Greeneville, Tenn., is affiliated
with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member
of the South Atlantic Conference which is comprised of nine
colleges and universities in Tennessee, North Carolina and South
Carolina.
