ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum University sophomore Inmaculada Delgado has been named the recipient of the South Atlantic Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Wealth Enhancement Group Elite 23 Award, the conference announced Sunday at the SAC Championship meet.
The award honors the student-athlete with the top cumulative grade-point average (based on a minimum of 48 credit hours) in each of the league's 23 team championship sports.
Delgado, a native of Seville, Spain, has a 4.0 grade point average as a mathematics and computer science major. Delgado, who was a Tusculum Freshman of the Year Academic Award winner last year, competed in the 3000 meters and the distance medley relay at the SAC Championship meet, helping the Pioneers earn an eighth-place finish in the DMR.
Delgado is a member of the South Atlantic Conference Commissioners Honor Roll and the Tusculum Athletic Director's Honor Roll. She is in the top 10 on the Tusculum indoor track & field performance list in the 1000 meters, mile run and 3000 meters.
