Members of the Tusculum College softball team are included in
the latest NCAA Division II statistical report, through games of
Sunday, April 8.
Junior righthander Elizabeth Johnson is third in victories with 23,
while senior third baseman Savannah Ewing ranks fifth in sacrifices
per game at 0.43 (19 in 44 games).
Junior shortstop Lindsey Umberger is tied for 23rd in triples with
four, ranks 47th in triples per game at 0.09 and is 47th-toughest
to strike out, averaging strikeouts in 3.9 percent of her
at-bats.
Sophomore catcher Paige Sneed is 34th in walks per game at 0.61 (25
in 41 games), senior left fielder Ashley Burke is tied for 28th in
sacrifice flies with three and sophomore center fielder Katie
Brennan is tied for 48th in triples with three.
As a team, the Pioneers rank sixth in double plays per game with an
average of 0.53 per contest (24 in 45 games). The Pioneers also
rank 36th in fielding percentage at .966, 39th in triples per game
with an average of 0.29 per game (13 in 45 games) and 40th in
earned run average at 2.16.
Tusculum (29-18, 9-5 South Atlantic Conference) hosts SAC-leading
Lenoir-Rhyne Wednesday at 3 p.m. in a doubleheader showdown for the
top spot in the conference. Lenoir-Rhyne is currently 10-4 in the
league, one game ahead of second-place Tusculum and Anderson.
