ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College junior righthander Elizabeth Johnson was named South Atlantic Conference Pitcher of the Week in softball for the second time this season, the conference office announced Monday.

Johnson threw four complete-game victories in four starts to help the Pioneers remain atop the SAC standings at 8-0. She allowed six earned runs in 28 innings of work for an earned run average of 1.50, and struck out 15 to lead the Pioneers to doubleheader sweeps at Lincoln Memorial and Brevard.

Johnson picked up victories of 6-2 and 2-1 at Lincoln Memorial, and 2-1 and 7-5 at Brevard. She was at her best in the late innings, retiring 24 of the 25 batters she faced in the sixth and seventh innings of the four wins.

Overall, Johnson is 22-6 with a 1.46 earned run average in 31 appearances, with 24 complete games in 28 starts. Her 22 wins could lead all of Division II pending the release of this week's NCAA statistical leaders.

The Pioneers (25-12, 8-0 SAC) are home Tuesday afternoon for a SAC doubleheader with Carson-Newman, beginning at 2 p.m. at Red Edmonds Field.
