GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- For the second time this season, Tusculum University men's volleyball freshman Morgan Makovec was named an Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (IVA) Player of the Week, this time defensively.
In a busy, four-match week, the Virginia Beach, Virginia native recorded 14 total blocks (six solo) alongside a trio of digs. Makovec also contributed 15 kills from the front row. He finished with four blocks in each of the last three matches in North Carolina after assisting in two at Saint Francis (Pa.).
On the season, Makovec is averaging 1.62 kills on a .306 hitting percentage, .16 service aces, .22 digs, and .64 blocks per set.
The Pioneers (6-16) take on No. 17 George Mason (11-7) in a two-match series starting Friday (Mar. 22) at 7 p.m. at the Virginia campus.
