Tusculum begins Northeastern trip at Daemen

AMHERST, N.Y. --- The Tusculum University men's volleyball team was swept by Daemen, who is receiving votes in the latest national poll, on Friday (Mar. 8).

The Pioneers (4-12) dropped their match to the Wildcats (13-3) by scores of 25-17, 25-19, 25-15.

Cameron Milligan and Zach Schneider led Daemen with 11 kills apiece. while Sean Califf dished out 31 assists. Milligan and Schneider also landed a pair of service aces as Schneider tallied eight digs. Ethan Sturm and Schneider were credited with two blocks apiece.

Deklan Wingo notched 12 kills, followed by Colby Landry (5), Morgan Makovec (3), Jaden Bramhall (3), Tristan Blake (2), and Donovan Nye (2) in the scoring column. Blake distributed 23 assists and landed the lone ace for the Pioneers. Libero Taylor West tallied a team-high five digs, while Nye had a hand in a pair of blocks.

Daemen hit .429 as a team with 42 kills and nine errors on 77 total attempts. Tusculum hit .230 with 27 kills, 10 errors, and 74 total attacks. The Wildcats led the Pioneers in assists (37-24), service aces (5-1), digs (32-19), and total blocks (4-3).

Tusculum continues its Northeastern stay with a visit to D'Youville on Saturday, March 9. First serve between the Pioneers and Saints is scheduled for 7 p.m.
