Miselli Selected to Off the Block Freshmen All-American Team
NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- Matteo Miselli continues to bring in the accolades as the outside hitter was named to the 2020 Off the Block Freshmen All-American Team on Monday afternoon. The Reggio Emilia, Italy native is one of two Division II honorees out of the 10 players listed.

A nationwide voting committee of 21 men's volleyball coaches and volleyball media members determined the Freshmen All-American Team. A player making the Freshmen All-American Team had to be among the top 10 vote-getters and appear on at least one-fourth of all the fully submitted voting ballots, as well as be listed on the roster as a freshman or redshirt freshman for a NCAA Division I-II men's volleyball team.

The Off the Block Freshmen All-American Team honors the top NCAA Division I-II men's volleyball freshmen players from the regular season. This is the eighth year Off the Block has presented the national honor, which remains the only Freshmen All-American Team presented in college men's volleyball.

After playing in all 19 matches, Miselli finished the program's inaugural season with 201 kills on a .228 hitting percentage, 68 digs, 26 service aces, 21 total blocks (three solo, 18 assists), and 16 assists. His total kills, digs, and aces were a team-best.

Nationally, the freshman ranked among the top-25 in four statistical categories: aces per set (15th; .456), attacks per set (20th; 8.00), points per set (23rd; 4.19), and kills per set (25th; 3.53).

Match-highs for the outside hitter include 25 kills (twice), eight digs, four aces (twice), four assists, and three total blocks (three times). Miselli reached double-figures kills in 10 matches, while hitting .333 or better eight times.

Off the Block is a national award-winning website that launched in 2011 and is the nation's leader in college men's volleyball coverage. Off the Block annually presents college men's volleyball national awards to recognize outstanding individual performances in the sport. Along with the Freshmen All-American Team, Off the Block during the regular season presents the National Freshman of the Week.
