TEMPE, Ariz. --- The Tusculum University men's tennis team moved up to 30th in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II team rankings, the ITA has announced.
The Pioneers (12-3, 5-0 South Atlantic Conference) stretched their winning streak to nine matches with a pair of 4-3 victories last week, at 42nd-ranked Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday and against Limestone at home on Sunday. Tusculum's nine straight victories are its longest winning streak since the 2015-16 season.
A total of six SAC teams are in this week's ITA rankings, led by Lenoir-Rhyne at 29th and followed by Tusculum at 30th and Wingate at 31st. Also ranked are Carson-Newman (42nd), Lincoln Memorial (44th) and Catawba (46th) inside the top 50.
Saint Leo, which beat Tusculum 4-0 at the PTR Collegiate Cup on Feb. 3, remains the number-one team in Division II. Other non-conference opponents also ranked this week are North Georgia (17th) and Charleston (25th).
Tusculum will host Lenoir-Rhyne (9-2, 6-1 SAC) on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
