GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University defeated UVA Wise 7-0 in South Atlantic Conference men's tennis action Friday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
The Pioneers (10-3, 6-2 SAC) lost just two games in doubles and four in singles against the Cavaliers (1-11, 0-9 SAC), winning three singles matches without dropping a game.
In doubles, Frank Bonacia and Nemanja Subanovic defeated Jake Ferner and Dominic Hoffman 6-1 at flight one, Dmitry Bezborodov and Leon Huck downed Coleton Burke and Luke Jarnagin 6-1 at flight two, and Kenta Kondou teamed with Jacco Mensinga for a 6-0 victory at flight three over Connor Giza and John Robert Kilgore.
In singles action, Bonacia defeated Ferner 6-0, 6-1 at flight one, Manuel Guedes de Almeida won 6-0, 6-0 at flight two over Hoffman, and Michael Younan downed Burke 6-0, 6-0 at flight three. At flight four, Marco Meon was an 8-0 winner over Jarnagin, Lluis Tomas beat Giza 6-2, 6-0 at flight five and Max Stam won 8-1 over Kilgore at flight six.
The Pioneers will travel to Bluefield State for a non-conference match on Monday at 1 p.m.
