GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum men's tennis team earned a 6-3 victory over North Greenville in non-conference action at the Nichols Tennis Complex Tuesday afternoon.
The Pioneers (11-10) took a 2-1 lead in doubles then won four of the six singles matches against the Crusaders (6-14) to snap a six-match losing streak.
In doubles, Leon Seiz and David Siegle teamed for an 8-3 win over Alejandro de la Torre and Dion Nijboer at flight one, while Fabian Paier and Tomas Kmetko downed Edmundo Torres and Austin Schlarb 8-2 at flight three.
In singles, Kmetko needed a pair of tiebreakers to finish off a 7-6, 7-6 win over Sjors van Eck at flight one, and Tashique Kader rallied from a set down at flight two to beat de la Torre 4-6, 6-3, 6-0. Eduardo Munoz won in a tiebreaker over Nijboer at flight three by a score of 6-4, 6-7, (10-3), and Paier beat Schlarb 7-5, 6-3 at flight six.
Tusculum hosts its final match of the season at the Nichols Tennis Complex and plays its final conference match of the year on Wednesday at noon against Coker.
