The South Atlantic Conference announced its annual men's tennis postseason awards on Wednesday, with Tusculum College's Tim Stierle earning Player of the Year honors and Adam Jackson capturing Coach of the Year recognition.

A total of four Pioneers were named All-Conference in voting by the league's 11 head coaches, with Stierle and Jonas Winkelmann selected in singles and together in doubles. Leon Seiz and Tashique Kader were also named All-Conference in doubles after helping the Pioneers to their third SAC championship in the last four years and sixth overall.

Stierle, a sophomore from Boblingen, Germany, compiled a perfect 11-0 record in SAC matches and went 17-2 overall for the Pioneers, playing primarily at the number-one position in the lineup. Stierle carried a 15-match winning streak through the season in which he lost a total of two sets.

Stierle's award marks the fourth consecutive year that Tusculum has received the SAC Player of the Year award and fifth time overall. Lukas Winkelmann won the award in each of the last three seasons (2013, 2014, 2015), with Carlos Garcia capturing the honor in 2008.

Jackson led the Pioneers to a 19-3 overall record and a 10-1 SAC mark in his first season as head coach, following the retirement of four-time SAC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year Tommy Arnett last fall. Two of the Pioneers' three losses came to nationally-ranked teams, and Tusculum went undefeated at the Nichols Tennis Complex with a perfect 8-0 record on their home court.

Jonas Winkelmann was named All-Conference for the fourth time in his career as he captured second-team honors. The senior from Boblingen, Germany was a first-team selection in 2013, second-team in 2014 and honorable mention last year. Winkelmann finished with a 13-8 record while playing primarily at number-three singles, including an 8-3 mark in conference play.

Winkelmann won the team's biggest match of the season, as he saved two match points while rallying for a three-set win in the deciding match against Wingate on March 18 that enabled the Pioneers to capture the top spot in the conference standings. Winkelmann has a career singles record of 60-21.

In doubles, Stierle and Winkelmann teamed up for a 16-2 overall record, which included 10 wins in 11 conference contests. The duo posted a pair of eight-match winning streaks during the season, with their only two losses coming against ranked opponents. For Winkelmann, it is the fourth straight season that he has been named first-team All-Conference in doubles.

The doubles team of Seiz and Kader, which was honorable mention All-SAC last season, finished with a 15-4 overall record and a 9-2 mark in conference play. The pair played all but one match at number-two doubles, and did not lose consecutive contests all season. Seiz, a junior from Ludwigsburg, Germany, and Kader, a sophomore from Obertshausen, Germany, have a two-year record of 29-8 as a doubles team for the Pioneers.

Joining Stierle and Jackson as a major award winner from the conference was Jacob Svantesson of Newberry, who was recognized as Freshman of the Year.

The Pioneers are the top seed in the SAC Men's Tennis Championship, and will play the winner of Thursday's quarterfinal match between Anderson and Newberry in a semifinal match on Friday at 1 p.m. on the campus of Brevard College in Brevard, North Carolina.
