HILTON HEAD, S.C. --- The Tusculum College
men's tennis team won its third-straight match by a 9-0 score with
a victory over Quincy University on Wednesday morning in Hilton
Head, South Carolina.
TC improves to 8-0 on the season and sweeps all three matches
of its spring break swing on Hilton Head Island. The Pioneers
jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles play. Lukas Winkelmann
teamed with brother Jonas Winkelmann and defeated Qunicy's (4-4)
Ian Hinkamper and Ethan Arns 8-4 in the top flight.
In the second doubles position, Leon Seiz and Tashique Kader
made quick work of Patrick Kuhle and Ryan McMillian with an 8-0
win. Nicolas Planchard and Toby de Klerk were victorious over
Michael Lesko/Wyatt Pauley in the third spot (8-2).
In singles action, #12 Lukas Winkelmann won his 40th-straight
dual singles match with a victory over Ian Hinkamper (6-2, 6-4) in
the top position. Planchard picked up a win over Kuhle at number
two (6-4, 6-2), while Jonas Winkelmann defeated Arns in the third
spot (6-1, 6-1).
Seiz earned a victory at four, beating Lesko by a 6-1, 6-0
score, and Kader defeated Pauley 6-1, 6-1 at five. De Klerk (TC)
rounded out singles play with a win over Chris Bueler in the sixth
spot (6-2, 6-0).
The Pioneers will return to action at home tomorrow afternoon
against South Atlantic Conference foe Lenoir-Rhyne. First serve at
the Nichols Tennis Complex is set for 1 p.m.
