GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The 14th-ranked Francis Marion University men's tennis team swept doubles play en route to posting a 7-2 win over host Tusculum College Saturday at the Nichols Tennis Complex.

The Patriots (5-1) also got wins at No. 1 singles and the bottom three flights to record the NCAA Division II Southeast Region victory.

But the points did not come easy, especially at No. 3 doubles as the FMU duo of Mickey Poirier and Tanguy Montoisy edged the TC pairing of Gui Carvalho and Drew Kiser, 9-7 in pro sets. FMU won the other two doubles matches, 8-5.

Tusculum responded by winning two of the next three singles bouts. TC newcomer Tony Bujana posted an impressive 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 win over Tim Ruepke at No. 2 singles. Sophomore Luis Zamora tallied a 6-1, 6-3 win against Karl Rogers at the third flight.

FMU won the remaining singles matches, including Poirier's 7-6, 6-3 victory against Paulo dos Santos at the No. 6 flight.

Tusculum (3-3) returns to action Sunday as the Pioneers travel to the University of Virginia's College at Wise for a 1 p.m. match.
