No. 12 Lander beats Tusculum 8-1 in home finale

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The 12th-ranked Lander University men's tennis team swept singles and captured two of the three doubles points en route to an 8-1 win at Tusculum College Sunday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.

Lander improves to 15-4 on the season, while the Pioneers fall to 14-4 in their regular-season finale. Tusculum is back in action April 22-24 for the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament in Rock Hill, S.C. Official seeding and opponent will be announced by the league office next weekend.

LU's Paul-Henri Arrigoni, the No. 10 singles player in NCAA Division II, accounted for a pair of points on the day. He and doubles partner Christopher Mattsson posted an 8-1 pro set win over the TC's Henrique Rodrigues and Luis Zamora at the No. flight.

Tusculum's lone point came at No. 2 doubles as Steven Lin and Oliver Smith posted a 9-8 win over John Cappabianca and Levan Clark.

Sunday was Senior Day for Tusculum as Rodrigues played in his final regular-season home match at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
