GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College men's tennis dropped only three points on the afternoon as the Pioneers defeated the University of Virginia's College at Wise, 9-0 Tuesday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.

The Pioneers (9-1) post its third consecutive victory, while the Highland Cavaliers (0-1) fall in their spring season opener.

Tusculum dropped just two points in sweeping doubles, including an 8-0 victory by the No. 3 duo of Gui Carvalho and Paulo dos Santos.

In singles action, the Pioneers got wins by Luis Zamora, Henrique Rodrigues, Steven Lin, Drew Kiser, dos Santos and Carvalho.

Tusculum returns to South Atlantic Conference play on Friday as the Pioneers host Wingate University for a 2 p.m. contest at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
