ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College's Henrique
Rodrigues has been named the South Atlantic Conference
Men's Tennis Player of the Week announced league officials
Wednesday.
Rodrigues, a 6-2 junior from Salvador-Bahia, Brazil went 2-0 at
singles and doubles to lead the No. 31 Pioneers to road wins at
Milligan and Virginia-Wise.
In Tusculum's 9-0 win at Milligan, Rodrigues recorded a straight
set win over Ricky Jones (6-2, 6-1). He also
tallied an 8-3 pro set win at No. 2 doubles with teammate
Leo Guaycurus. In TC's 9-0 victory at
Virginia-Wise, he rallied from a set down to defeat Arnaud
Ba 3-6, 6-3 (10-8). He also paired with Guaycurus for an
8-0 blanking at No. 2 doubles.
The South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week is
selected by a vote of the league's nine sports information
directors.
Tusculum (4-1) returns to action on Thursday when the Pioneers
host King College for a 2 p.m. match at the Nichols Tennis
Complex.
