NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tusculum College freshman midfielder Isai Hernandez has been named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Men's Soccer Player of the Week for his performance in two Pioneer victories last week.

Hernandez had a goal and two assists as the Pioneers improved their record to 9-0-0 overall and 5-0-0 in the South Atlantic Conference with wins over defending national champion and sixth-ranked Pfeiffer University and SAC rival Newberry College last week.
 
The Dalton, Ga., native netted the game-winner in overtime as Tusculum rallied twice for a 3-2 victory over Pfeiffer on Wednesday night. Hernandez then collected two assists in the Pioneers' 3-0 win over Newberry on Sunday afternoon.
 
Hernandez has two goals and three assists this season for the 10th-ranked Pioneers, who host Trevecca Nazarene Tuesday night at Pioneer Field.
