--- Todd Fidler scored the match-winning goal in the 71st minute to lead the Tusculum College men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Barton College Saturday night.

The Pioneers (4-1) step back into the South Atlantic Conference play this Wednesday afternoon when they host in-state rival Lincoln Memorial University for a 4:30 p.m. contest at Pioneer Field.

At the 70:43 mark of the match, Fidler notched his first collegiate goal as he blasted a shot at the top of the box following a deflection off a Barton defender and buried it into the back of the net.

Tusculum keeper Jorge Alvarez posted his third shutout of the season and second consecutive clean-sheet as he finished with three saves on the evening. Barton net-minder Jens Madsen Hordvik suffered the loss as he accounted for three saves in the contest.

The Pioneers out-shot the Bulldogs (1-5) by a 9-4 margin, while BC held a 5-3 advantage on the corner kick.
