Andre Bissmark scored on a penalty kick 22 seconds into overtime
to give Tusculum College a 4-3 victory over Milligan College in a
non-conference men's soccer match Wednesday night.
Bissmark's game-winner marked the third straight match in which he
has scored for the Pioneers (7-7-2), who won despite being outshot
20-11 by the Buffaloes (9-5-0).
Stephen McNeill, Nduka Kemjika and Roberto Pimentel also scored for
Tusculum, whose four goals matched a season high set against
Shorter on Sept. 9.
The Pioneers took a 1-0 lead at 9:17 on the first goal of the
season by McNeill, but the Buffaloes came back to even the score at
1-1 when Lewis Grant scored at 36:16.
Tusculum regained a 2-1 lead with 2:03 left in the first half as
Kemjika tallied his first career goal. The Pioneers took the lead
to intermission as the defense did not allow a shot for the rest of
the half after Grant's goal.
Milligan knotted the contest at 2-2 as Nimely Robertson scored at
50:59, then took a 3-2 lead when Chris Ochieng found the net with
27:23 left.
The Buffaloes nursed the lead until 12:27 remained, when Pimentel
connected for his fourth goal of the season. The contest remained
deadlocked at 3-3 after regulation, but Bissmark came through from
the penalty spot just seconds into overtime for the victory.
Victor Ohlin made his third start of the season for the Pioneers
and finished with six saves in the win. Alex Haun made three saves
in the first half and Dan Ball finished with two second-half stops
for Milligan.
The Pioneers will close out their regular season Saturday at
Wingate beginning at 7 p.m.
