GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The No. 22 Carson-Newman College men's soccer team scored a pair of second half goals against Tusculum College on Wednesday night to rally past the Pioneers for a 2-1 victory in South Atlantic Conference play on senior night at Pioneer Field.

Neither side held a significant advantage in the run of play on the night, as the Pioneers (8-5-1, 4-3 SAC) edged the Eagles (11-3-1, 6-1 SAC) 20-18 in shots. Jordan Moore allowed one goal and made nine saves for Carson-Newman in the match while Tusculum's Lance Moore stopped seven attempts on goal in his final regular season contest at Pioneer Field.

Tusculum opened the scoring midway through the 17th minute when Andres Jarquin fed a through ball into senior Anteneh Lemma, who then delivered a curling strike from 27 yards out to give the Pioneers an early 1-0 lead with his seven goal of the season.

The Pioneers held the one-goal advantage until the opening moments of the 60th minute when Carson-Newman's Robert Hill scored the equalizer off a through ball by Anthony Chiappetta to pull the Eagles back on terms at 1-1. Eagle forward Omar Cooke then netted the eventual match-winner midway through the 65th minute off a perfect drop pass from Hill, delivering a driven strike inside the far post from 15 yards distance to give Carson-Newman a late 2-1 advantage.

Tusculum returns to the pitch on Saturday when the Pioneers travel to Hickory, N.C. to conclude their South Atlantic Conference schedule with a 4 p.m. matchup against Lenoir-Rhyne University.
