MEN'S SOCCER LISTED PROMINENTLY IN NCAA II STATISTICS

NCAA INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College men's soccer is ranked among the nation's leaders in several individual and team categories in this week's edition of the NCAA Division II men's soccer statistics, announced NCAA officials Tuesday.

Tusculum enters the postseason ranked 13th in the nation in scoring offense, averaging 2.67 goals per match this season. The Pioneers also possess the ninth-best winning percentage in all of Division II (0.861), and are ranked 13th in shutout percentage (0.50). Tusculum is also ranked 43rd in team goals against average (1.1) and 56th in team save percentage (0.77).

South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week Bruno Conceicão enters the week leading the nation with 48 points through 17 matches, after his five-point performance on Saturday to lead the Pioneers to their second consecutive conference title. A native of Valenca, Bahia, Conceicão is second in the nation in points per match (2.82), fifth in goals per contest (1.18), and tied for third in total goals (20). The 5-10, 160-pound forward is also ranked 39th in assists per match (0.47) and tied for 25th with eight helpers this season.

Midfielders Scott Lucky and Lucas Paulini begin the 11th week of the season tied for 29th in the nation with 0.50 assists per match, and are also tied for 18th with nine helpers thus far. Sophomore Anteneh Lemma is ranked 60th in NCAA II with 1.5 points per match after his two-goal outburst against Anderson (S.C.) on Wednesday. The Stockholm, Sweden native is also 70th in the nation in assists per match (0.39), and 77th in goals per contest (0.56).

Junior goalkeeper Lance Moore enters the week still listed among the top 50 netminders in the nation, ranking 46th with a 1.098 goals against average through 18 matches. The Morristown, Tenn. native is also ranked 62nd with a save percentage of 0.759 this season.

The top-seeded Pioneers (15-2-1) return to the pitch on Wednesday when they host the No. 8 seed Catawba College Indians (4-13) in a quarterfinal match of the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Pioneer Field. Tickets are $5 for adults, $2 for students, and Tusculum students will be admitted free of charge with a valid student ID.
