Tusculum scored twice in less than a minute on goals from Penner and Nuzzo early in the second quarter, but Anderson went on a 6-0 run before a goal from Hobday late in the half brought the Pioneers within 18-6 at intermission.

Phillips would score the only goal of the third quarter for the Pioneers as Anderson carried a 23-7 lead into the fourth. Bowen connected for his first career goal early in the fourth quarter as his 60-yard heave from deep in the Tusculum end caught the Trojans off-guard.
