Tusculum College sophomore midfielder Nate Wade has been
selected to the South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse
Championship All-Tournament Team after helping the Pioneers to the
semifinal round.
Wade had four goals and two assists and won 14-of-19 faceoffs in
two games, as the Pioneers rallied to defeat Coker 12-9 on the road
in the quarterfinals before falling 18-10 to eventual tournament
champion Lenoir-Rhyne in the semifinal round, played at Queens
University of Charlotte.
In the win over Coker, Wade had a pair of assists and won several
key faceoffs as the Pioneers rallied from a five-goal deficit to
beat the Cobras and earn the first postseason victory in program
history. Against Lenoir-Rhyne, Wade scored a season-high four goals
and went 9-for-11 at the faceoff dot as the Pioneers played the
Bears close through three quarters.
For the season, the native of Victoria, British Columbia finished
fourth on the team in both goals (19) and assists (9) and was third
on the squad with 28 points. Wade led the team by winning 55.1
percent of his faceoffs, and was fifth on with 24 ground balls.
The Pioneers finished in fifth place in the SAC with a 3-5
conference record and went 5-10 overall this season.
