Tusculum College will travel to Coker College for a South
Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Tournament quarterfinal game,
scheduled for Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The Pioneers qualified for the SAC Tournament for the first time in
their three-year history after finishing in a three-way tie for
fifth place in the league with Catawba and Mars Hill. Tusculum was
awarded the fifth seed via the conference tiebreaker policy, and
will face the fourth-seeded Cobras in their first postseason
contest.
The teams have gone to overtime in their regular-season meetings
the last two years, with Coker winning at home last season and at
Pioneer Field on April 9 of this year, by identical 11-10 scores.
Coker is the defending SAC co-champion, having shared the 2014
title with Queens.
The winner of Tuesday's game will advance to the semifinals against
top-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne, which will be played Thursday at 4 p.m. at
Queens University of Charlotte. The championship game will be
played Saturday at 2 p.m. at Queens.
In the other quarterfinal contest, Queens is hosting Catawba on
Tuesday at 4 p.m. The winner of that game will face second-seeded
Wingate in the semifinals on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
