ROCK HILL, S.C. ---

For the second time this season, Tusculum College goalkeeper Kevin Haggerty has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for his performance during the week ending March 27.

Haggerty made 12 saves as the Pioneers defeated Catawba 11-6 on the road on Saturday night, including six stops in the first half as he helped Tusculum build a 6-1 lead at halftime. Haggerty faced 20 shots in the second half and came up with six saves to help the Pioneers maintain their five-goal lead and earn their second conference road win of the season.

The junior from Suffern, New York has made 10 or more saves in seven of the Pioneers' eight games this season, and ranks third in the conference with a 10.27 goals against average. It is the fourth time in his career that Haggerty has captured SAC Defensive Player of the Week honors and the second this season, having previously been honored for the week ending March 6.

The Pioneers (3-5, 2-1 SAC) are home Wednesday night against Lincoln Memorial for a SAC match that begins at 7 p.m. at Pioneer Field.
