Chapman, Wade earn All-SAC Men's Lacrosse honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College student-athletes Mitch Chapman and Nate Wade have been named to the 2015 All-South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Team announced league officials Tuesday. The Tusculum duo earned spots on the All-SAC honorable mention team.

Chapman, a 5-11, 220-pound junior defenseman from Oshawa, Ontario, earns All-SAC accolades for a second straight year after garnering second team honors in 2014. He has started in 11 games where he has accounted for three goals and eight assists, which are third-most on the squad.

Chapman dished out three helpers against North Greenville and two at Lincoln Memorial, including the game-winner in double-overtime. His goal at SAC co-champion Coker came with seven seconds left to send the contest into overtime. Chapman has accounted for 23 ground balls and caused nine turnovers in 2015.

Wade, a 6-2, 215-pound freshman midfielder from Victoria, British Columbia, finished second on the team with 21 goals. He also tallied five assists to give him 26 points, which are tied for second for the Pioneers. Wade, who played in all 12 games, recorded three hat tricks and dished out a season-high five assists against Ohio Valley. His seven man-up goals are tied for second in the league this year. He has also been credited for 11 ground balls and five caused turnovers.

Tusculum (4-8, 2-6 SAC) finished tied for seventh place in the conference standings. The Pioneers will close out the 2015 season next Saturday (Apr. 25) when they host Young Harris College for a 3 p.m. contest. April 25 will be Senior Day for the Pioneers.
