GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Ben Thompson has signed
a national letter of intent to attend Tusculum College and play
lacrosse for the Pioneers announced TC head coach Richard
Carrington.
Thompson, a native of Palmyra, Va., was a starting defender and
long-stick midfielder for Fork Union Military Academy. While at
the Fort Union, Va. school, he served as team captain for his
senior campaign.
"I had the pleasure of coaching Ben last summer in the most
challenging lacrosse camp I've ever been associated with. This camp
pushed participants to their physical and mental limits. Ben was a
camp standout," said Carrington. "I immediately noticed his speed
and overall athleticism. However, Ben was most impressive off the
field, where he asserted himself as a leader and serious
student-athlete. We'll rely heavily on Ben's leadership next year
as we mold our young team into a group of champions."
