Tusculum lacrosse signs Ryan Hill

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Ryan Hill has signed a national letter of intent to attend Tusculum College and play lacrosse for the Pioneers announced TC head coach Richard Carrington.

Hill, a 6-2, 175-pound long stick midfielder (LSM) from Orlando, Fla., played his prep lacrosse at University high School, where he was coached by Andrew Hochheimer. He earned All-Metro East Conference honors this past season and was a four-year letterman and served as team captain in his senior campaign.

"Ryan is the prototypical LSM, who is as dangerous offensively as he is defensively. His length will make it difficult for midfielders to get by him, and his speed makes him an offensive threat in the open field," said Carrington. "We will rely on Ryan's work ethic and passion for lacrosse to help us set the tone on a daily basis."

Hill led the Cougars to the district playoffs the last two seasons where they finished runner-up twice. In 2013, he recorded four goals with an assist, while forcing 49 turnovers and recording 120 ground balls.

He becomes the second lacrosse player to ink with a NCAA Division II program in University HS history and is the son of Tony and Michelle Hill.

Tusculum College, located in Greeneville, Tenn., is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference. Tusculum, the oldest college in the State of Tennessee, sponsors 15 intercollegiate sports, including men's lacrosse, which will be competing in its first season during the 2013-2014 academic year.

Tusculum, the 28th oldest college in the nation, is a liberal arts institution committed to providing a liberal arts education in a Judeo-Christian and civic arts environment, with pathways for career preparation, personal development and civic engagement. Approximately twenty-one hundred students are enrolled on the main campus in Greeneville and three off-site locations in East Tennessee. The academic programs for both traditional-aged students and working adults served through the Graduate and Professional Studies program are delivered using focused calendars whereby students enroll in one course at a time.
