Eddie Schoenig inks with Tusculum lacrosse

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Eddie Schoenig has signed a national letter of intent to attend Tusculum College and play lacrosse for the Pioneers announced TC head coach Richard Carrington.

Schoenig, a goalie from Brewster, N.Y., is wrapping up his prep career at Brewster High School where he has led the Bears to a 6-2 record through their first eight contests. He is listed among the state's leaders in saves and is a long-time member of the Westchester Warriors Lacrosse Club.

"Eddie displays the kind of maturity and focus you rarely find in an 18-year-old," said Carrington. "His size, explosive saves, and vocal leadership will make an impact on our team, and I fully expect Eddie to compete for a starting position next spring."

Schoenig also lettered on the Bears' football team and plans to study science and pursue a career in the field of medicine.

Tusculum College, located in Greeneville, Tenn., is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference. Tusculum, the oldest college in the State of Tennessee, sponsors 15 intercollegiate sports, including men's lacrosse, which will be competing in its first season during the 2013-2014 academic year.
