Pioneers host Dibble Intercollegiate this week

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University men's golf team will host the Bob Dibble Intercollegiate this Monday and Tuesday (Mar. 20-21) at Link Hills Country Club. This will be the 29th edition of Tusculum's spring home men's golf tournament.

The two-day, 36-hole event returns to Link Hills after a two-year hiatus and held concurrently with the Agnes McAmis Memorial Women's Invitational. The Dibble Intercollegiate will be played on the par-71, 6,701-yard layout.

The opening round will begin on Monday with tee times starting at 10:30 a.m. Play will conclude with Tuesday's final round starting at 10:30 a.m.

The Pioneers have won this event on 12 occasions including: 1995, 1997, 1998, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2022.

Nine (9) colleges and universities will be competing with teams representing five states including Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Team's competing include: Tusculum, Christian Brothers, Emmanuel, Emory & Henry, Mars Hill, Roane State, Spartanburg Methodist, UVA Wise and Walters State.

Walters State has won Tusculum's spring tournament on two occasions including most recently in 2018.

The Pioneers have won its home tournament on three consecutive occasions. A Tusculum golfer has claimed medalist honors at this event on seven occasions with the last coming in 2021. Past TU individual champions include: Todd Watson (1994), Tim Johnson (1997), Kevin Broyles (1998), Nick Kinzer (2006), Darren Christie (2007), Chris Wynne (2008) and Liam van Deventer (2021).

The Dibble Intercollegiate is named in honor of longtime Tusculum head coach Bob Dibble, who served as Pioneer skipper for 28 seasons. Coach Dibble is a member of the Tusculum Sports Hall of Fame, South Atlantic Conference Hall of Fame and the Tennessee Golf Association Hall of Fame.

Admission to the tournament is free and open to the public.
